A Web Of Life

Fungal rhizomorphs, or mycelial cords, are web-like structures in fungi made up of tubular filaments called hyphae. Rhizomorphs act much like plant roots to absorb nutrients for the fungi.

I found these rhisomorphs under the bark of a dead beech log.
