Experience:

Capitol Place

Capitol Place is a mixed-use project in Washington, D.C.’s H Street Northeast Corridor, which will include approximately 390,000 square feet of residential and street-level retail space. Located near Union Station, the district’s central rail hub, the project represents an opportunity for transit-oriented green development as well as pedestrian improvements to connect the transportation center to the existing commercial and residential neighborhood. Early in the design process, Terrapin consulted with the design team from Cook+Fox Architects to frame the relevant sustainability issues and brainstorm environmentally-responsive solutions. Among its green features, Capitol Place will emphasize open space, stormwater control, and healthy living, putting the project on the leading edge of new green building legislation that will soon become mainstream practice in Washington, D.C. The project is committed to achieving a LEED Silver rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. Detailed Terrapin Case Studies are available in the Workroom, our private extranet full of detailed information and resources to help you make an informed decision.
