Experience:

Yellowstone National Park

Bill Browning was part of a team that conducted a series of charrettes that were designed to mirror of the mission of our national parks by ensuring both preservation and sustainable development in some of our nation’s most valuable resources. The greening of Yellowstone charrette and follow-up workshop was a part of this larger effort coordinated by Global Environmental Options that brought together the National Park Service, NGOs, and gateway communities surrounding the park to address issues of visitor experience, community economic development, air pollution, transportation systems, and hospitality-industry supply chains. Major concerns included transportation congestion and the negative affects of air pollution, including snowmobile exhaust, on rangers and locals. Important outcomes included the implementation of a shuttle bus system and installation of ventilation systems in ticket booths.
