Experience:

Global Green USA's Holy Cross Project

Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, national NGO Global Green initiated a competition to plan and reconstruct the community of Holy Cross, in the lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, based on the principles of green design. Working as a representative of the U.S. Green Building Council, Bill helped assemble a technical jury to review all competition submittals. This jury pre-screened entries for the main competition jury, and helped them choose six finalists. Bill worked with the finalists on the technical aspects of their designs, and assisted the winner, Workshop/APD, on refining their proposal. The winning entry consists of 5 detached single family homes, and 18 unit apartment building, a store, and a community building, designed with input from the residents of Holy Cross.

*Work performed by Bill Browning in affiliation with Browning+Bannon, as a representative of the U.S. Green Building Council. Detailed Terrapin Case Studies are available in the Workroom, our private extranet full of detailed information and resources to help you make an informed decision.
