Experience:

Harmony, Maho Bay

In the early 1990s, Bill Browning provided a technical and mechanical systems review for a series of condos that were among the first properties developed in the modern “eco-resort” movement. Located on scenic St. John, these vacation homes were an experiment in zero-energy development. The Harmony properties are completely off the grid, minimizing infrastructural impact on this beautiful, ecologically sensitive area. The sites were developed with attention to resource efficiency and using a variety of best practices, including rainwater harvesting, passive cross-ventilation, recycled materials, and renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic panels and solar hot water heaters.

*Work performed by Bill Browning in affiliation with Rocky Mountain Institute. Detailed Terrapin Case Studies are available in the Workroom, our private extranet full of detailed information and resources to help you make an informed decision.
